The Sentinel Sheep Acrylic Animal Landscape Painting
Acrylic on Board 1999 6 x 4 ins Frame: unframed Mount: unmounted Emilie Scholey collection
A Landscape Painting in Acrylics with a mad looking Sheep which tried to stare me out the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in West Bretton, near Wakefield in west Yorkshire.
The Sheep roam free in part of the park amongst the outdoor sculptures by Henry Moore. This one I think was being protective of its young.
Landscape & Sheep Painting Technique: The Sheep painting was done with Acrylic Paint diluted quite thinly and applied in transparent washes like a Watercolour Painting onto hardboard given a bright white coating of Acrylic Gesso. Lots of white space is left in the picture, giving it a sketchy feel, like something you may have just glimpsed from the corner of your eye.
