Wood Duck Aix sponsa Bird Painting in Coloured Inks Ink on Board 1985 8 x 10 ins private collection
A Bird Painting of a male Wood Duck painted with Waterproof Drawing Inks.
The support for this Wood Duck Painting is an old piece of brown corrugated cardboard given a couple of coats of white household emulsion paint.
The Drawing Inks were painted a layer at a time with a Sable Watercolour Brush starting with yellow, then orange, then red and the darker colours on top.
The lighter areas are just the emulsion showing through, and the overall effect is similar to that of a stained glass window.
The Wood Duck depicted was a specimen from an Ornamental Waterfowl Collection.
A Signed Greetings Card is available of this Painting click here
