Campanula - Purple Border Plant Acrylic Flower Painting

A small Flower Painting in a modern semi-abstract style. The support is a piece of grey-board (thick grey card) which has been given about four coats of white acrylic gesso.
Flower Painting Technique: Photographic reference was used for this Flower Painting Study which is executed in a spontaneous manner giving attention to the energies of the interlocking lights and darks of the foliage and the star-shaped mauve Flower. Fine detail was not considered to be important in this piece of Artwork.
The texture in the brush marks is created through the use of a cheap coarse hog's hair brush, available in any discount hardware store (I bought a set of 5 for £1).
